I've sown some early carrots in a pot -it's about 10 inches deep - I think I might get some baby carrot size ones for the kids. Carrots are the only vegtable my 4 year old will eat (only eats them raw) so it's worth a try. Normally when I've grown them in the ground they've been about 3 inches long and forked.

So yesterday I (and the children) put a few seeds on compost in a 10 inch deep pot, in the middle of the pot we put a bottomless plastic cup (filled with compost -like a pipe I suppose) and put a few seeds in that too - hopefully these ones will be longer.

I wanted to upload pictures - but haven't got that advanced in the blogging yet.
