Carrots are the only vegtable my 4 year old will eat (only eats them raw) so it's worth a try. Normally when I've grown them in the ground they've been about 3 inches long and forked.&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;p&gt;So yesterday I (and the children) put a few seeds on compost in a 10 inch deep pot, in the middle of the pot we put a bottomless plastic cup (filled with compost -like a pipe I suppose) and put a few seeds in that too - hopefully these ones will be longer.&lt;/p&gt;
	&lt;p&gt;I wanted to upload pictures - but haven't got that advanced in the blogging yet.&lt;/p&gt;

Lettuce is another new one for me -so far I've sowed in pots and will be transplanting outside depending on the rain.&lt;/p&gt;
